Twelve Illustrations to the Parables

Beautiful and fascinating. This book, published in 1870, contains 12 illustrations of Parables, from “sketches taken in the East by H R McEniry”, a frontispiece from a picture by John Jellicoe and illuminated borders from the “Brevario Grimani, in St Mark’s Library, Venice.”

A real curiousity and a very rare find! You can have a look by clicking on the link below…

Can You Name This Book?

We’re giving away this hardback edition of a famous work of English Literature! All you have to do is give the name of the book and its author (along with the publication date) and it’s yours! If more than one answers correctly, either through walledcitybooks.com or our facebook page, we will draw a winner at random… Have a go!

We even do ‘normal books’!

Yes. While much of what passes for “Second-Hand and Antiquarian Books” may often seem a little esoteric and exclusive, it has to be remembered that most people, most often, just want to read a novel. What sets us apart from the High Street sellers of new books is the variety of authors, subjects, time periods and genres that drift through our shelves over time. If we don’t have what you’re looking for today, we’ll have it soon! And while you’re waiting, why not take a risk on something new?

Have a look. Click on the link below. Even if you don’t find what you’re looking for, let us know and we’ll look for you!
